Earth Steward Crew

Our versatile earth stewarding crew works on a variety of projects ranging from sustainable construction projects starting as a FULL TIME labor position. Projects may include stormwater management to permaculture installations to masonry, as well as farm work which could include nursery operations, land management, animal husbandry and food production.   Every day is unique and requires the ability to be present, focused and have a good work ethic- in all weather conditions, whether alone or in a team.  Good physical health and strength is a requirement, as the job is demanding in that capacity.   Other requirements include WA drivers license and good driving record.

Any experience in construction trades is helpful and knowledge in horticulture, professional permaculture or sustainable agriculture trades a plus.  Salary DOQ.

Interships & Volunteering

APPRENTICESHIP: For the 2021 year at South 47 farm we will be offering limited spaces for apprenticeship opportunities. We will be focused on plant medicine production from the field prep to product production.  This is a working permaculture farm with perennials, a nursery, eduction, agritourism and licensed hemp production. Time commitments will be necessary for the whole season. Email info@nwbloom.com if you are interested.

Farm Hand Position

CLOSED POSITION until early 2022. This is a PART TIME staff position for our in-house farm and nursery at the South 47 Farm in Redmond.  Must know how to use basic machinery – tractors, mowers, line trimmers, and be able to work efficiently alone or in a large team. Position includes land maintenance, growing plants: seeds, cuttings, divisions, bare root and transplanting reliably. Knowledge and experience in greenhouse setting, ability to manage irrigation, pest management a must – as well as being able to work in all outdoor conditions and able to lift 50 lbs regularly.
